One floor of PEAC will be dedicated to excellent plant research on plant-environment interaction. High-tech laboratories for molecular biology and cell culture enable genome editing and plant engineering at the highest level. The laboratory areas are designed to be multifunctional in order to enable rapid adaptation to new research questions. Furthermore, the PEAC building will coordinate and network the experimental plant capacities of the entire HHU. PEAC therefore also serves as a bridge between laboratory and field and links climate reality, climate simulation and plant genetics in plant research at HHU. In the future, two junior research groups will be established at the laboratory and office level.
